Ayurveda is an ancient science having history of more than 5000 yrs. The principles of Ayurveda  has been found very effective & potent as in now days also even if ,they were framed before hundreds of decades. Today, every research in Health science is focused on the remedy/treatment for disease but very little researches are lighting on prevention of diseases.

But fortunately, solid & concrete principles of Ayurveda designed & framed by our Ancient Rhishis & Acharyas like Charak, Shushrut, Vagbhat, Nagarjun etc. Ayurved is only one & unique science in the World that assures the mankind for “Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam” first & “Vyadhitasya Vyadi Parimokshanam” secondly, i.e. prevention is better than cure.It is the basic principle that first Vaidya shall try to maintain healthy mankind by Body & mind. So that all the above narrators designed “swasthavrutta palan” i.e. how to behave , what to consume & avoid. Along with this ,they also  suggested the time tested “RASAYAN CHIKITSA” which has itself capacity of “Apunarbhav” means minimization or total absence of re-occurrence of the disease .

Rasayan Chikitsa is implemented in Ayurved Science for the purpose to be stay fit & fine with healthy body & soul/mind out of any disease. Many types of Rasayans are planned for following effects in Mankind…..In shlokas it is stated as such…

“दीर्घमायुः स्मृतिं मेधामारोग्यं तरुणं वयः ! प्रभावर्णस्वरौदार्य देहेंद्रियबलं परम् !!
वाक्सिध्दि प्रणतिं कान्तिं लभते ना रसायनात् !! “च.चि.१ /७+८

2. Enlightenment of Memory & intelligence
3. Immunity against diseases
4. Eternal Youth
5. Excellence of Lustre , complexion & voice
6. Optimum strength of body & senses organs
7. Infallibility of utterance
8. Honour among people & physical glow
9. Attainment of sound health

Acharya Charak has elaborated RASAYAN as
“लाभोपायो हि शस्तानां रसादीनां रसायनम् !!”
“स्वस्ठ्स्योर्जस्करं यत्तु तद् वृष्यं तद्रसायनम् !!”

These both stanzas(Shloks) states preventive & curative specialty of Rasayan.

Pure Gold or Suvarna  Element (Metal) is also described in ancient ayurved science as “Vishaghna” by using in all ways .i.e by raw or bhasma etc.

“Suvarna “ has itself capacity in Charak Sanhita as

इंद्रोक्त रसायन्

सर्वरोग प्रशमनं वृष्यं आयुष्यमुत्तमम् ! सत्व स्मृति शरीराग्नि बुद्धिंन्द्रीय बलप्रदम् !!
परमूर्जस्करं चैव वर्ण स्वरकरं तथा ! विषालक्ष्मीप्रशमनं सर्ववाचिगत प्रदम् !!च.चि.१/४/२४

Also in Sushrut Sanhita
मध्वामलकचुर्णानि सुवर्णमिति च त्रयम् ! प्राश्यारिष्ट्गृहीतोऽपि मुंच्यते प्राणसंशयात् !! सु.चि.२८/२०

Also in all traditional  ayurvedic scriptures Suvarna has described as very effective in all types of diseases like Sharirik,Manasik  etc.

मृतं सुवर्णं शिशिरं वयस्थापनमुत्तमम् ! स्मृतिप्रदं परञ्चैव त्रिदोष्ज्वरनाशनम् !! ७१!!

सौन्दर्यमुखलावण्यं ललनानां विवर्धयेत् ! पित्तहारिस्त्वमड़्ग़ेषु जनयेच्च विशेषतः !!७२!!

मृतं सुवर्णं सुस्निग्धं वाग्विशुद्धिकरं परम् ! चिन्ताशोकभयक्रोध संम्भुतामयनाशनम् !!७३!!

शिरोदेशे प्रविद्धांतु रक्तसञ्चरणक्रियाम् ! आत्मघाताभिलापं च प्राबल्येन समुत्थितम् !!७४!!

अस्थिक्षतं त्वस्थिशोथं तथा जड़्घास्थिवेदनाम् ! फिरड़्गजां मुष्कमांसवृद्धिञ्चापि चिरन्तनीम् !!७५!!

उन्मादमथं वैचित्यं योषापस्मारकं तथा ! चिंन्तोद्वेगं भ्रमं ग्लानिं नाशयेदविकल्पतः !!७६!!

हॄद्वेपनप्रशमनं मुष्कशोथप्रणाशनम् ! अस्थिशोषहरं चैव मुर्च्छार्तिपरिकृन्तनम् !!७७!!

कासश्वासप्रशमनं परमोजोविवर्द्धनम् ! अतिसारग्रहणिकापाण्डूवामयनिषूदनम् !!७८!!

मृतं सुवर्णं शमयेन्नित्तान्तं प्रसादसंज्ञं पवनं प्रवृद्ध्म् ! क्षीणं तथैनं परिबृंहयेच्च समं समं पोषयतीह काये !!७९!!

प्रक्षीणमेधास्मृतिपाटवानां प्रशुष्यदाम्लानकलेवराणाम् ! प्रमुह्यतां शास्त्रगतौ च नित्यं युनां शिशूनाञ्च परं शस्तम् !!८०!!
